These days, a Romanian woman settled in Switzerland showed what the prices are at the supermarket where she does her shopping. Citizens don’t have to worry about not finding affordable food, especially with their salaries. Compared to Romania, the residents earn much better and get good products for little money.
One Swiss franc is equivalent to 5 lei, which means that the Romanian woman paid 10 lei for organic milk, 40 lei for 10 organic eggs, 3 lei for a yogurt. The prices are close to those in Romania, even lower, but the difference is in the salary. A resident receives at least 24 francs per hour, almost 120 lei, given that in our country, you have to work a day for this money. We don’t take into account that there are also jobs that pay 10 lei per hour!
“It’s not a cheap country, but I think it makes up for it. Of course, prices are higher than in Germany, but the gross minimum wage is also around 24 francs per hour. Organic milk, 1.95 francs, 10 organic eggs, 7.95 francs, own brand yogurts, 0.60, the butter we like very much, for 200 grams, 3.6 francs. A kg of this coffee is almost 17 francs, a kg of own brand coffee, 6 francs. Beef prices start at 33 francs,” the Romanian said on TikTok about the prices in the Swiss supermarket.

The supermarket with low prices also has promotions
An example given by the Romanian woman is that she can buy 10 kilograms of sugar for 9 francs, or 45 lei. Even the chocolate is not expensive, costing no more than 8 lei at the supermarket in question and of superior quality. The price is extremely low, considering that there is a global cocoa crisis in the world, which has led to an increase in prices in all countries, including Romania.
“A chicken costs 20 francs, but really the quality of the meat here is very good. Of course, if you go to the offers or to the supermarket’s own brand, then the kilo of chicken is 7.35 francs. It’s very little. 10 kg of sugar on sale, 9 francs. For Swiss chocolate, the lowest price is 1.6 francs”, added the Romanian from Switzerland in the video posted on TikTok.
