Hardware that marks the return of the Kirin processor and with many components made in China

HUAWEI Pura 70 Pro it gets major hardware upgrades over its predecessor, and as we’ve come to expect, the camera gets a lot of attention. However, the processor does not escape either, so this time we meet on board a new generation chipset developed in-house, a Kirin 9010 which is admittedly a step behind its rivals, being developed on the 7nm process vs. 4nm to Snapdragon 8 Gen3 for example or Exynos 2400.

We also remember that the predecessor HUAWEI P60 Pro came with Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 (4nm) in the 4G version, and as HUAWEI’s desire is to reduce dependence on foreign components, the decision was made to return to Kirin, with a new solution , also equipped with a 5G modem. The processor is an octa-core with a 2.3 GHz Taishan Big core + 3x 2.18 GHz Taishan Mid cores and 4x 1.55 GHz Cortex-A510 cores for energy efficiency.

We have configurations with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB flash storage, and in Romania only the 12/512GB variant is officially sold, more than enough for the demands of flagship users. We don’t have a microSD or NM slot like the predecessor had unfortunately.

We also tick stereo speakers here, 13 megapixel front camera, triple rear camera and 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen, brighter and better protected than the P60 Pro, with the Kunlun Glass 2 solution. The battery also sounds good 5050mAh with unexpectedly many options for wired, wireless, reverse wireless charging, as well as reverse wired charging.
