Media: Google announced the Pixel 8a smartphone – 08.05.2024

A week before the company’s most important annual event, Google presented the Pixel 8a smartphone, according to news.ro.

Like its predecessors with an “a” at the end of the name, the Pixel 8a is intended to be the most affordable model of the Pixel 8 series, which will cost starting at $500, the source reports.

The most important upgrade of the new smartphone is the switch to the Tensor G3 chipset, which, in the basic version, will be accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the cited source states.

There will also be a 256GB version, which will cost $100 more, according to the news.

The new Google smartphone has a 6.1-inch OLED screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits, the source informs.

The company promises that the battery, 100mAh larger than that of the previous model, is enough to last a whole day, news adds.

The photo system, on the other hand, remains unchanged, being composed of a 64MP wide camera and a 13MP ultra-wide camera, the source reports.

Pixel 8a will enter the market, in the countries where Google officially sells it (not Romania, for now), starting on May 14, according to news.ro.
