Nothing, the tech company led by Carl Pei, is preparing a new chapter for its smartphone series. After the success of Nothing Phone (1), the manufacturer aims to recreate the magic with a special edition of Nothing Phone (2a), expected to be unveiled at an event in India on April 29.
An exciting new shade for fans of the Nothing series
While official details are still scarce, Nothing has already sparked interest by revealing a mysterious image that hints at a deep blue hue for this special edition. According to rumours, the model could carry the ‘Blue Blaze’ moniker, bringing a vibrant color blanket over the series’ recognizable design.
Regardless of the final color, the Nothing Phone (2a) is expected to retain the same top-end hardware specs as the standard variant. We’re talking about a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, 8GB or 12GB RAM options, and a generous 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
In the photo department, performance is promised with a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL main sensor and a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide sensor, while for selfies there is a 32MP Sony IMX615 camera. Modern connectivity with dual 5G, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, as well as IP54 protection against dust and water complete the picture of an attractive configuration.
Although the initial release is scheduled for April 29 in India, it is not out of the question that the Nothing Phone (2a) “Blue Blaze” special edition will be available in other regions of the world later. Nothing has already demonstrated global ambitions with its smartphone series, and a limited color version could attract new fans to the young but ambitious brand.
It remains to be seen whether this special edition will be accompanied by other hardware or software surprises. Regardless, Nothing enthusiasts have reason to look forward to the launch event at the end of April.
