Engineers will have to live in the factory, as the new car is not intended to be a series product, but a “demanding production start-up”. Musk emphasized that this is not just an empty phrase, but stated: “We will do this,” he writes FutureZone.
Such measures are repeatedly criticized at Tesla. In 2018, for example, Musk said he slept in Tesla’s factory to monitor Model 3 production. Employees also told The Verge about an “ultra hardcore” work culture. They tell of workplace accidents due to unsafe conditions, regular overtime and harassment and insults. (Continue after photo)

Low-cost Tesla model with revolutionary production technology
The new electric car would be the long-announced Tesla at an affordable price. This has been in discussion for some time under the name of the “Redwood” project. Since the car is intended to serve a larger market than the Model 3, the “production hell” described at the time could be overcome.
According to Musk, “a huge amount of revolutionary manufacturing technology” would be used for this. Once production begins, it would far outstrip all other production facilities internationally. Launch is planned for mid-2025.
