Jannik Sinner (2 ATP) qualified for the round of 16 of the 1000 points tournament in Madrid on Monday evening, after eliminating Pavel Kotov (72 ATP) in two sets.

The Italian prevailed with the score 6-2, 7-5, at the end of a confrontation that lasted one hour and 39 minutes.

Following this success, Sinner qualified for the next round, where he will face Karen Khachanov (17 ATP) for a place in the quarters.
