Steaua, sanctioned once again by the FRF because of its supporters

--

Steaua will play its last match at home this season without spectators, as well as the first at home in the next edition of the championship. In addition, he has to pay a new fine to the Romanian Football Federation, of almost 17 thousand lei, following the away game at Târgu Jiu, with Viitorul Pandurii, from the first stage of the League 2 play-out.

The sensitive people who run the country and the federation want to go to football and hear odes from the stands. It was not, again, the case from the Star supporters, and the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission of the FRF “executed” the Bucharest club again, this time adding a ban on organizing matches with spectators, in addition to the classic fine.

Steaua chose to organize two games without spectators and with a fine of almost 17 thousand lei after the match in Târgu Jiu

If at the end of March Steaua was sanctioned with 18,750 lei following the games in the regular season with CSM Reșita, from Valea Domanului, and with Viitorul Pandurii, from Ghencea, according to the reports written by FRF game delegates Romeo Malac (Timişoara) and Dorinel Dincă (Călăraşi), based on article 54/2 (Racism. Xenophobia. Discrimination. Denigration) from the Disciplinary Regulations of the FRF, now, a month later, after several postponements of making a decision, the Bucharest club is punished again because of the chanting of its supporters.

The chants of Stella’s supporters (main photo) during the match held on March 30, 2024, in Târgu Jiu, with Viitorul Pandurii, won by Daniel Oprița’s team with a score of 2-0, in the first stage of the play-out of League 2, Group B, it disturbed the ears the sworn and implicit party of the federation, represented at the match by at least the game delegate Cristian Petropulos (Alba Iulia), and on April 29 the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission of the FRF took the decision to sanction the club.

“According to art. 54.2 and 4 in conjunction with art. 82.2 of the RD of the FRF, the CSA Steaua club is sanctioned by scheduling the next 2 (two) games without spectators and a penalty of 16,875 lei”reads the decision of the CDE.

Under these conditions, Steaua will have to pay a new fine to the FRF, probably having forgotten the number from the last years, and proving once again that it is the most sanctioned club in Romanian football.

It must be stated that at that game there were no incidents generated by the Stella supporters, there were no firecrackers or smoke detectors, but what disturbed the ears of delegate Petropulos was the repertoire of the gallery, especially the chants against the party in power, PSD.

  • What do the articles of the Disciplinary Regulations of the FRF say on the basis of which Steaua was sanctioned:

– Article 54 | Racism. Xenophobia. Discrimination. Denigration
2. If the spectators display inscriptions containing discriminatory/derogatory/racist/xenophobic slogans or are guilty of other such behavior at a game, the jurisdictional body will impose a sanction from 5,000 to 70,000 lei to the club that the spectators supported respectively, for each new violation of the same type, the penalty will be increased by ½ compared to the previously applied one. Upon reaching the maximum threshold, the club will be sanctioned with the measure of scheduling a game without spectators cumulated with a sports penalty of 70,000 lei. If the spectators cannot be identified as supporters of one of the clubs, the host club will be sanctioned accordingly.
4. Depending on the circumstances, the disciplinary body may also impose other sanctions on the responsible club, such as: banning the organization of games at its own stadium from 2 to 10 games, forfeiting the game, deducting 2-6 points or exclusion from the competition.

– Article 82 | Responsibility for the behavior of spectators
2. The visiting club is responsible for the irregular behavior of its own groups of supporters and, depending on the gravity of the facts, may be sanctioned in a similar way as the host club and/or with the measure of banning its own gallery or its own group of supporters at games played away or on neutral ground from 1 to 10 games. Supporters occupying the away section in the stadium are considered to be supporters of the away team, unless proven otherwise.

“Let’s go to the match, children, let’s sing for the colors / The morning arrests us like the last criminals!”, the message of the “South Boys” faction, part of the Stella gallery, in the away match from Târgu Jiu. This message was banned in the stadium by the game delegate sent by FRF, Cristian Petropulos, president of AJF Alba.

Steaua has one more home game in this League 2 season

If last season Steaua was sanctioned after an away game against Dinamo at the National Arena with a drastic fine and with four games that they had to organize outside of Bucharest, at Mioveni, the last one being consumed right at the beginning of this season, against Metaloglobus, now the club from Ghencea has chosen a sanction of two games that they must organize without spectators.

Not long ago, in March, after the first league match between Dinamo and UTA, in which there were serious incidents between the supporters, some of them even entering the field, the two clubs were sanctioned by the CDE with the scheduling of the following four home matches without spectators and with a sports penalty of 100,000 lei each. Both clubs appealed the decision and eventually won the right to hold these matches with spectators, but only with children in the stands.

Steaua will have to organize one more match at home this season, in the last stage, the 7th play-out of League 2, on May 11, which will receive the visit of Concordia Chiajna.

Steaua and Concordia currently occupy the first two places in Group B of the play-out, with 38 and 37 points, respectively. The new Ligue 2 season is scheduled to start on August 3, 2024.

AS47: “The party’s boot on Stelisti supporters”

The Association of Stelistilor 1947 did not remain without reaction after the last sanction received by the Steaua club, publishing the following message on its Facebook page:

“The boot of the party on the Stelisti supporters.
If anyone was still skeptical about the fact that we are disturbing the PARTY, today they have new proof. And they didn’t just stop at appointing vassals in key positions to mock the biggest football team in Romania.
In Târgoviște, although they have a stadium built with public money, they refused to rent it to us because of insults to the party. Moreover, the mayor himself ordered that the return match not be televised.
How far can the dictatorship go?”

After that game with Viitorul Pandurii, which drew Stela this sanction, the team also played matches with Progresul Spartac (4-1), in Ghencea, with Chindia (0-0), in Târgoviște, and with CSM Slatina (2-0 ), in Ghencea. In all, the fans repeated the chants they had at Târgu Jiu, but it remains to be seen if the FRF game delegates sent to these matches, Ionel Poclid (Timişoara), Florentin Barbu (Giurgiu) and Lucian Cîrjă (Constanța) , they did their job well.
