It’s no secret that Princess Kate loves sports. But there is one physical activity she absolutely loves without Prince William realizing it.

Kate Middleton and her “crazy” hobby

Kate opened up about her ‘crazy’ hobby during an appearance on Mike Tindall’s podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby .

She told Mike:

“I always remember being physically active, whether it was walking, climbing in the Lake District, Scotland or swimming from a young age. My parents always encouraged me. to be physically active and sporty and they always encouraged us to do team sports and try things” .

He then shared his love for cold water swimming, which has many health benefits and involves swimming during the winter season in open air or unheated pools, even in the dark. An excited Kate revealed her little secret:

“Swimming cold – the colder the better. I absolutely love it. A little bit to the point where William says to me ‘You’re crazy’ and it’s dark and raining.”

Kate Middleton has a degree in scuba diving

The princess definitely has a love for water. In 2015, it was learned that he is also a qualified diver, writes The Mirror. Kensington Palace has confirmed that he has passed the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) Advanced Open Water Diver course, which will allow him to dive to a depth of 30 metres.

She can also dive with her husband, Prince William , who has been scuba qualified for some time and is president of the British Sub-Aqua Club. A spokesman for Kate said at the time for Telegraph :

“Diving is something the Duchess is very fond of and the Duke of Cambridge, who is of course the BSAC chairman, has said in the past that he hopes his children will become interested in the sport.”

Kate and William hope to teach their children to dive

The princess had to complete five dives, including a deep dive and an underwater navigation dive, to pass the course. She learned how to cope with the physiological effects of deeper dives and how to handle equipment, including a compass and diving knife, that would be used in emergencies such as entanglement in fishing nets. That same year, William opened up about his own passion, admitting he hoped Prince George, then two, would follow in his footsteps.

“C diving really opened my eyes not only to many extraordinary sights, but also to the responsibilities we have as guardians of the underwater world” said William.

“I hope that one day my son, George, can experience the wonders of snorkelling and scuba diving. Right now, bath time is pretty painful,” he joked.
