Politehnica Timișoara aims to quickly return to League 2, after being relegated last season. The team from Banat is in the chart: the team led by Paul Codrea occupies the 2nd place in the 8th Group of League 3, behind those from FC Bihor, but they are almost certain of the playoff.

Iosif Rotariu, who came to help the club as a scout, hopes that Poli will be promoted to League 2 from this season, despite the extremely young squad that Paul Codrea has at his disposal.

“We have a pretty good chance of playing in League 2 from next season. When Pantilimon and Codrea came to the club, I also came to the scouting department. Almost all the players who were relegated last season left and we promoted from the academy, we also brought in young players from other parts…

We wanted to form a team for League 3, to develop young players. Little by little, a very good group was created, also supported a lot by the fans. After what we have seen in the last games, we have a good chance of promotion at the play-offs. Lottery allows us to promote, but you know how it is at the dam, it also depends on chance.

It is a new project in Timișoara, with the promotion of many players from the academy, from the area. The oldest player is Cristian Bocșan, 29 years old. I think we have the lowest average age in all of League 3“, declared Iosif Rotariu, at GSP Live.

Iosif Rotariu, optimistic about the new stadium in Timisoara: “It will be ready in two years”

The new Timisoara stadium will occupy an area of ​​over 9,000 square meters and will have 10,101 seats for spectators. A park with a playground will be set up next to the arena, as well as a parking lot with over 450 spaces, which will also be used by the residents of the area.

However, the news is not good regarding the “Dan Păltinișanu” arena, Rotariu reveals, where things are stagnating:

“I was at the beginning of the work for the LEGO-stadium, which I understand will be ready in 2 years. It will have a capacity of 10,000 seats. It would be a very important thing for Timisoara, and maybe even more people from the city will join the team.

Instead, at the stadium «Dan Paltinișanu» it will take longer. The demolition did not even begin there. It will also have a much larger capacity, around 30,000 seats. It would be very important, however, for the LEGO stadium to be ready, the emulation around the club would be much greater”.

When does Poli return to League 1?

Rotariu is optimistic and hopes that his soul team will return to the first league in no more than 4 years:

“We hope that in 3-4 years, at most, we will return to League 1.

The Poli brand has a great tradition. Everyone in Timișoara asks me: “What are we going to do with Poli?”. We hope to return to League 1 as soon as possible and to come to you on the show, let’s talk about matches like FCSB – Poli Timișoara!”.
