Who are the presenters of the newest sports TV channel in Romania?

The new channel of Romanian Television, TVR Sport, goes on air on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 07:00.

Public Television announces that TVR SPORT is the institution’s 14th channel and will be the main means of promoting Romanian sports values, sports in general and sports as a healthy way of life.

“We continue the development of Romanian Television with relevant and necessary media products for our audience. At TVR SPORT we will encourage lesser-known competitions, we will bring back memorable pages from the glorious history of Romanian sports, preserved in the heritage of the Golden Archive of TVR, we will be host to our great champions, but also to young people eager to perform”, he declared Dan Cristian Turturică, President-General Director of TVR.

TVR SPORT will broadcast the Olympic Games in Paris – the most grandiose sporting event worldwide, which will take place between July 26 and August 11, 2024, together with other TVR channels.

In the run-up to the Olympic competition, TVR SPORT will broadcast a series of podcasts and special shows, with excerpts from the stories of legendary champions. Gabriela Szabo, Marian Drăgulescu, Maricica Puică, Leon Rotman are just a few of those who will tell TVR SPORT viewers about their performances.

The TVR SPORT offer also includes championships and international competitions in football, volleyball, swimming, polo, gymnastics, boxing, snooker, chess, tennis, etc., moments from the brilliant history of Romanian sports with and about great champions, from Nadia Comăneci to Sandra Izbașa , from Ivan Patzaichin to Cătălin Chirilă or from Ilie Năstase to Simona Halep.

TVR’s sports channel also programs histories and portraits of famous footballers, as well as Romanian football teams. Dobrin, Balaci, Ozon or Baratky will sit alongside Hagi, Mircea Lucescu, Adrian Mutu or Belodedici at TVR SPORT.

The hosts of the TVR SPORT programs will be Eda Marcus, Costin Deșliu, Cristian Mândru and Tudor Furdui, as well as the other journalists of the TVR sports editorial office.

The TVR SPORT grid will include, among others, productions such as:

“Sports hour” – brings for the first time to a sports television school competitions – handball, judo, athletics, table tennis, fencing, 3×3 basketball, football, volleyball – national or regional.

“Olympic Hour” – offers the latest news about competitions, qualifications, Romanian athletes, events – everything that is relevant for viewers in anticipation of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

“TVR SPORT Podcasts” – covers topics related to sports legends, active athletes, sports medicine, etc.
