Florin Piersic did not contract any nosocomial infection during his stay in our hospital

The Cluj Military Hospital stated, in a press release on Thursday, that the actor Florin Piersic did not contract any nosocomial infection during his hospitalization in the medical unit.

“Considering the information that appeared in the public space and to clarify the aspects related to the medical assistance given to the actor Florin Piersic in our hospital, we are communicating the following:

• The actor Florin Piersic did not contact any nosocomial infection during his hospitalization in our hospital;
• He was treated for the complex pathology for which he went to the hospital;
• The actor and his family have asked that no medical information be released and wishes to remain private.

We ask you to comply with the Law on the rights of the patient, especially with regard to the confidentiality of medical data”, reads the statement of the Cluj Military Hospital.

Florin Piersic, aged 88, underwent knee surgery at the Cluj Military Hospital, later being transferred to the Heart Institute in Cluj-Napoca to be monitored by doctors.

Florin Piersic arrived at the Intensive Care Unit, at the Heart Institute in Cluj, to be supervised by doctors, given his advanced age and the fact that he has a pacemaker fitted, Antena 3 reported.

“His condition is stable. At the moment, he is in the Cardiology Department, under medical treatment”, the representatives of the Heart Institute announced on Wednesday.

They specified that the actor’s family requested that no details be provided regarding his state of health or his ailments.

The knee surgery, performed on Monday at the Cluj-Napoca Military Hospital, went well, but the patient needs recovery.

The actor underwent surgery after he fell ill at the end of a show, and doctors found he had an infection in his knee, which has apparently spread.
