Ciolacu assures that the PSD-PNL alliance will not break: “We are stronger than ever at this moment”

The president of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, declared on Wednesday evening, on Romania TV, that there is no question of breaking the coalition formed by the PSD and the PNL after the decision regarding the separate candidacies for the General City Hall of the Capital. He claims that the members of the alliance are “stronger than ever at this moment”.

“Dom, no coalition, no alliance is broken. Categorical! Why? We are stronger than ever right now! Why, that we went separately? What did you want, to remain a referee, to have popcorn, to sit on TV and say: Sir, I thought that Piedone was better, to see who… is the president of the PSD, Mr. them!”, said Ciolacu.

The PSD leader was convinced that, after the June 9 elections, the formation he leads will have the majority in County Councils and county town halls.

The coalition decided to go with separate candidacies for the Capital City Hall, namely Gabriela Firea – PSD and Sebastian Burduja – PNL, in order to maximize the electorates of the two parties. The two candidates will not attack each other in the campaign, but will have a constructive campaign on solutions for Bucharest. Sectoral candidates remain common, as do local council lists. It is a similar situation to the decisions taken for Bacău and Brașov.
