Prince William of Great Britain and his wife, Kate, thanked the public on Tuesday for the messages received on the occasion of the birthday of their youngest son, Louis. He turned six years old today. The couple also posted a photo of Prince Louis on social media taken by Kate in Windsor, where the family lives, Reuters reports.

“Happy 6th birthday, Prince Louis! Thank you for all the lovely wishes today,” Kensington Palace tweeted on X.

The photo was taken by Kate in Windsor, where the family lives. Louis is the youngest of the three children of the princely couple, having as siblings George, aged 10, and Charlotte, who will turn nine next month.

Kensington Palace has been releasing photos taken by Kate, a keen amateur photographer, to mark birthdays and other family events for several years.

However, a photo released this year on Mother’s Day in March was retracted by several media organizations, including Reuters, because it had been edited, something Kate later apologized for.

The incident came shortly before the princess revealed she was undergoing chemotherapy after tests following major abdominal surgery in January revealed cancer.

The heir to the throne, William, recently attended his first public engagement since his wife’s announcement, and Kate will only return to the spotlight when her medical team declares her well enough.
