President Volodymyr Zelenskiy warned in an interview CBS Newsthat Ukraine can no longer cope if the military assistance package from the US continues to be delayed.
Although the situation on the front has recently been stabilized, Zelenski made a new appeal to Western allies to deliver the necessary ammunition to withstand the Russian offensive, according to CBS News.
“We didn’t have bullets, artillery rockets, a lot of different things,” he said, pointing out that the Kremlin’s war machine, which constantly supplies Russian troops at the front, has led to the destruction of some villages.
Zelensky: “Tens of billions of dollars remain in the USA”
According to President Zelensky, the Ukrainian army is most in need of Patriot air defense systems and more artillery, an aspect that was also pointed out by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, in an interview for Politico. Although he is grateful for the support of billions of dollars from the US that his country has received so far, he pointed out that production, money and taxes remain, for the most part, on American territory.
“Yes, it is a huge support that comes to us, but we need it [de el]”, the president added.
In the interview given to CBS News, Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke about the fact that Moscow tries to blame Ukraine in many situations, including in the case of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City concert hall, which was claimed by the ISIS group.
“Use this only for the sole purpose of justifying the fact that Ukraine does not exist,” Zelensky said in the interview.
Russia’s war “may reach Europe, but also the United States”
The leader from Kiev warned that if Ukraine loses the war, Vladimir Putin will not stop at this point, but will continue the offensive, because his goal is to return the former Soviet Union to its imperial glory and its geographical borders.
“For him, we are a satellite of the Russian Federation. Right now, it’s us, then Kazakhstan, then the Baltic states, then Poland, then Germany. At least half of Germany,” he said, reiterating a warning about what he sees as Putin’s future intentions.
“This aggression – and Putin’s army – can reach Europe, and then the citizens of the United States, the soldiers of the United States, will have to protect Europe, because they are members of NATO,” added Zelenski.
