Between September 15-18, 2022, the IRO World Rescue Championship for Search-Rescue dogs will take place in Craiova.
Romania is the first country in the world to organize in the same city, Craiova, through CNEC – the National Canine Education Center, the 4th World Championship for Rescue Puppies, after in 2009 it organized the IRO World Championship in Individual, in 2016 – FCI World Team Championship, and in 2021 – FCI World Team Championship.
After the pandemic period, IRO (International Organization of Search and Rescue Dogs) organizes the first World Championship, in Romania, in Craiova.
Thus, our city becomes the world rescue cynological pole, where more than 100 participants, from 38 clubs, from three continents and about 300 visitors are expected.
The arrival of the elite of the world cynology (European champions, world champions of previous editions) and the participation of a very large and varied number of breeds makes this edition of the WCH very high and difficult cynological level, but it becomes a canine royalty.
Asia is represented by clubs from South Korea and Japan, America is represented by a club from Argentina, and European clubs are from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Switzerland, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Hungary and Romania.
Romania is represented by CNEC, made up of five people (Oana Marica, Adriana Grigore and Andra Betiu – in the end, Carmen Popescu – for the search on the surface and Ion Mădălin – for the search in the rubble).
The entire leadership of the IRO (International Organization of Search and Rescue Dogs), the leadership of the FCI RD (FCI World Rescue Commission), representatives of the UN/INSARAG, representatives of the European commissions partnering with the IRO, international experts in the field will be present at the event search and rescue, medicine, international mass media.
The message is very clear, everyone appreciates this event with utmost admiration, seriousness and professionalism from all points of view (social, canine, humanitarian, tourism, business environment).
Craiova City Hall, co-organizer and the main partner from the Romanian authorities, together with the 60 CNEC volunteer members, 30 Crucea Roșie Dolj volunteers, another 30 volunteers from partner NGOs, respectively over 100 people representing the Ministry of Interior, will be involved in the good holding this world event.
Between 15-18 September 2022, daily between 8.00-19.00, the general public has free entry to the world mega-event of 2022, they can see the champion trucks at work, in the following competition areas:

the Doctor’s Inn forest – (surface search section),
the former Podari slaughterhouse – (rubble search section),
Airport field area – (trailing section)
