The Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization Bogdan Ivan announced that the Single State Application will have its first functional services at the beginning of next year.

“We signed the contract for the execution of the Single State Application in March 2024, the execution term is one year and six months, i.e. until September 2025. From the discussions we had with the company that won the public tender, we explicitly requested that this Single State Application have the first services it offers somewhere at the beginning of 2025”, explained Bogdan Ivan, at the end of Thursday’s meeting of the Executive.

Minister Ivan added that, in the first stage, there will be about 30 public services in the Single State Application. At the same time, depending on how the preparation of the health card by CNAS will evolve, it will also be interoperable with the application.

“At the level of discussion with the team working on the Single State Application, we also took into account the creation of this type of card in digital format because the costs are incomparably lower than when we talk about issuing it physically, on the one hand, and on the other hand, in order not to create the need for new investments in devices that read these cards, which are incompatible with other devices, to have a QR code that can be scanned through the same application that the doctors will have directly from the phone to simplify things a lot”, added Ivan.

He provided details about the principle that will be the basis of the functioning of the government cloud.

“The principle we use when we talk about the government cloud, about everything that Romanians’ data means, both in the case of identity documents, in the case of property documents, and in the case of study documents, will be a very simple one, namely the one in which we have the journaling of every action that the state institutions undertake at a technical level to consult the personal data of a Romanian citizen. So when you work in digital format, traces remain and everything is traceable, and any Romanian, in order to ensure total transparency, will be able to request the data, at the end of the year or quarterly, to see which are the institutions that have accessed personal data of the Cațean, in what period and for what purpose”, concluded Bogdan Ivan.
