First mission with a SMURD plane: Two patients in critical condition after an accident, transferred from Suceava to Bucharest

The General Aviation Inspectorate of the MAI announces that, for the first time, on Thursday, it fulfilled a mission with the help of a SMURD Bombardier Learjet 75 aircraft, which was requested for the transfer of two critical patients, from Suceava to Bucharest.

“It is for the first time that the General Aviation Inspectorate of the MAI executes a mission for the simultaneous transfer of two critical patients, with the help of the planes in the equipment. On board the aircraft were medical teams from the UPU-SMURD Bucharest, which took over from Suceava, a woman and a man in critical condition, following a road accident”, IGAv reported.

According to the cited source, the plane’s crew managed to transport the two patients to Bucharest in 40 minutes, where they were safely handed over to doctors at the Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital.

“The intervention of the plane’s crew represents an important step in terms of increasing the quality of services offered to citizens in the field of emergency medical assistance, even in the most difficult circumstances. The coordinated effort of our colleagues demonstrates once again the efficiency of the integrated emergency system in our country”, IGAv representatives mentioned, according to News.ro.
