Almost four hours of intervention by the gendarmes and firefighters from Gorjeni to find some lost young people.
At 8:33 p.m., yesterday, after receiving a SNUAU 112 call in collective listening, the Gorjeni gendarmes and firefighters were alerted to the fact that two young people, on an ATV ride, got lost in the wooded area near the town Tickles.
They were guided by phone and GPS coordinates were sent to them to reach the town of Țicleni, but they returned because the ATV used had broken down and they could no longer continue the journey.
Gendarmes from Târgu Jiu and Bărbăți as well as firefighters from Târgu Jiu and Turceni were sent to the place indicated by the appellant.
Arriving near the place, the gendarmes and firefighters divided into search teams, the area being difficult to access due to the darkness.
At 11:45 p.m., the persons were found by a fire crew, they were picked up and brought down to the town of Țicleni. They did not require medical attention and continued on their way home.
“We recommend that hikers, before setting out on the road, document themselves in advance regarding the route they want to take, access routes, have a charged phone and lighting equipment on them. At the same time, only travel routes intended for road traffic in order to avoid isolated areas and encounters with wild animals”, reports IJJ Gorj.
