FIRE of great proportions in a commune in Olt: tons of coal, wood and grain were destroyed, as well as two solariums

15 tons of coal, five tons of firewood, one ton of grain burned, last night, in a fire that broke out at a warehouse in Cilieni commune. At the same time, the foil on two solariums on approximately 500 square meters was damaged.

Firefighters from the Vișina Guard and the Caracal Detachment intervened at the scene, with two special fire trucks and a SMURD crew. In support, the Tia Mare Voluntary Service for Emergency Situations intervened with an intervention vehicle.

“When the crews arrived, the fire was evident in the warehouse and the goods stored inside.

The firemen’s mission to extinguish the fire and remove the negative effects lasted about an hour and a half”, reports ISU Olt.

As a result of the event, the warehouse with an area of ​​approximately 50 square meters, 15 tons of coal, five tons of firewood, one ton of grain burned and the foil on two solariums on approximately 500 square meters was damaged.

“The probable cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit caused by a defective or improvised electrical cable,” the firemen add.

Preventive measures:

do not use electrical appliances, electrical cables, sockets, switches, protective devices with malfunctions or with improvisations;

do not use oversized fuses by replacing the calibrated fuse with a fuse;

do not overload the electrical installation by using several devices at the same time;

periodically check the connecting cords of electrical appliances and take measures to replace them when they are worn.
