According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, the implementation of the Integrated Information System for the Issuance of Civil Status Acts – SIIEASC was initiated, in April, at the level of all administrative-territorial units of Ilfov county, through the digital registration of deaths and births and , considering the results obtained, on Wednesday the General Directorate for the Registration of Persons, with the support of the County Directorates of Registration of Persons from the counties of Cluj, Constanța, Hunedoara, Ialomiţa, Iași, Sibiu and Timiş, as well as the local directorates for the registration of the persons involved, achieved operationalization at the level of the seven county seat municipalities.

A new stage regarding the expansion of SIIEASC is expected to take place on May 10 by including some localities from the counties of Cluj, Constanţa, Hunedoara, Ialomiţa, Iaşi, Sibiu and Timiș.

The implementation, at the national level, of the computer system will be carried out in stages, to be completed this year, on September 24, the Ministry of the Interior states.

The MAI, through the General Directorate for Communications and Information Technology, and the General Directorate for the Records of Persons, as a beneficiary, in partnership with the Authority for Digitization of Romania, the Special Telecommunications Service and the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration have implemented the Integrated Information System for Issuing Civil Status Acts – SIIEASC, co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund through the Competitiveness Operational Program 2014 – 2020.

In the implementation of the project, an important role was played by the support provided by the Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE), as the Management Authority for the Competitiveness Operational Program, says the MAI.

The value of the project was 184,920,864.06 lei including VAT, of which 155,964,263.64 lei represents non-refundable financing from the European Regional Development Fund, through the Competitiveness Operational Program (POC), 28,952,894.61 lei represents non-refundable financing from the national budget and 3,705.81 lei eligible co-financing of the beneficiary.

The Integrated Information System for the Issuance of Civil Status Acts is made up of five interoperable platforms with the aim of providing digital services limited to the registration or, as the case may be, the attestation of life events: birth, marriage, divorce and death.

The SIIEASC infrastructure integrates a platform dedicated to carrying out the activity of all civil status officers in Romania, a platform dedicated to the citizen, the platform of the partner public institutions – through which interoperability with the public administration will be ensured, and a component that contains an electronic archive in which are stored more than 68.5 million digitized civil status documents, including information from the last 100 years, more precisely, starting from January 1921, the Ministry of Internal Affairs says.
