A former teacher who was accused of terrorizing his students, PNL candidate for the Iasi County Council

​The former teacher Constantin Șerban, who three years ago was accused of hitting and offending children, is a candidate in Iasi from the PNL for the position of county councilor. Following the accusations and after the School Inspectorate requested a disciplinary investigation of Şerban, he resigned.

Constantin Șerban is currently a county councilor in Iasi. He is running for a new mandate, Jurnalul de Iasi writes.

In March 2021, the local newspaper 7iasi.ro published recordings from the lessons given by teacher Constantin Șerban to some 2nd grade students from Secondary School no. 28 “Mihai Codreanu”, in which it was heard how he threatens the students, offends them and in which the sounds of blows are also heard.

He was sanctioned with a 15% pay cut, then resigned

After the recordings appeared, the school decided to sanction Constantin Șerban with a 15% salary cut.

After this decision, he resigned, writes Edupedu. Şerban is also deputy general secretary of the PNL, according to the same source.

He was also accused of harassment in April this year. During an interview in the competition for the position of manager of the Popular Arts School “Titel Popovici”, in Iași, he harassed the current manager, Beatrice Duca, she claims, according to the publication 7iasi.ro.
