Easter report for emergency crews in Cluj: hundreds of interventions, including dozens of accidents, in just a few days.
Thus, the Cluj firefighters carried out a number of 264 missions during the mini-holiday of May 1, respectively on the occasion of the Easter Holidays. Of these, 52 were interventions in road accidents, fires or to restore normalcy. Also, SMURD crews managed over two hundred medical cases.
Among the most important interventions was the one on May 2 to put out a cottage fire on Viile Dâmbul Rotund Street in Cluj-Napoca. The fire destroyed the cottage of about 40 square meters. Three water and foam trucks took part in the mission. Also on Thursday, May 2, the firefighters from Dej intervened to extinguish a fire that destroyed a car in the town of Măhal, Sânmartin commune. During the day of Saturday, May 4, firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out in the kitchen of an apartment located on Aurel Vlaicu street in Cluj-Napoca. More specifically, the flames spread over an area of approximately 12 square meters, affecting the ceiling and furniture. Most likely, the fire started from a malfunction of the kitchen hood. On the same day, the firefighters from Huedin intervened in a road accident in the town of Viștea. The operative crews found a car crashed into a tree at the scene. There was only one victim, a man in his 20s. After receiving medical attention, he refused to be transported to the hospital.
