The weather has changed radically in the whole country, after the summer temperatures of the last few days. From tomorrow, the mercury in thermometers drops considerably, and extreme phenomena make their presence felt even today. Updated weather forecast.

Half of the country is under Code Yellow for rain and storms. The warning is in effect until 11:00 p.m.

“The yellow code covers most of Moldova, Muntenia, eastern Transylvania and locally the area of ​​Maramureș. There will be more intense phenomena, but we will also have similar phenomena in the other regions, but in smaller areas frequent torrential downpours, electrical discharges, whirlwinds, hail and larger amounts of water over 20-25 liters per square meter, isolated even over 40 liters per square meter,” said Alina Şerban, ANM meteorologist.

Orange flood code in Neamt and Iași counties

On Tuesday, hydrologists issued a Code Orange flood warning valid for rivers in Neamt and Iași counties.

The small rivers in the Albuia hydrographic basin, a tributary of the Siret river, in the counties of Neamt and Iași are targeted.

Hydrologists warn that the phenomena may occur with greater probability on some small rivers in the Stănița hydrographic basin.

In these areas, as a result of the rainfall recorded in the last hours, the forecasted rainfall and the spread, significant run-offs on slopes, torrents, streams, rapid floods on small rivers with possible severe local flooding effects and important increases in flows with possible exceedances of Flood Ratings.

The warning is in effect until 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Also, on Tuesday evening there are Yellow Code warnings of immediate phenomena valid on the rivers in the hydrographic basins: Bârsa (tributary of the Olt river) Brașov county, Bârlad – upstream basin SH Băcești and the tributaries related to the downstream sector SH Băcești – upstream SH Vaslui, Neamț counties, Vaslui and Iași, Olt – tributaries related to the downstream sector confluence with the Lotru river – upstream Ac. Ionești, Vâlcea and Argeș counties.

“The maximum temperatures will be somewhere between 15-16°C and at most 23-24°C, and the day after tomorrow it will cool significantly, so the maximum temperatures will no longer exceed values ​​of 20-21°C”, said Alina Şerban , ANM meteorologist.

Almost all of Europe is affected by extreme phenomena, with rain, blizzards and hail. In the Czech Republic, for example, hail was the size of a tennis ball.
