The Prefecture of Prahova announced, in a press release on Tuesday, that it notified the competent bodies to carry out checks regarding the works on the gas network in Slănic, in the context of the broken street in the locality, informs Agerpres. The institution specifies that it did so in the conditions in which the Prahova County Council refused to make available to the Prahova County Committee for Emergency Situations the geotechnical studies related to the Slănic locality, but also the way in which the works on the gas network in the Slănic Valley are carried out.

At the same time, the Prefecture requests the verification of the legality of the execution contract, of the awarding documentation of the procurement procedure, as well as of the subsequent additional documents. According to the Prahova Prefecture, the contract was supplemented with 5 million euros, with the agreement of the president of the Prahova County Council, Iulian Dumitrescu.

The request of the Prahova Prefecture also concerns the verification of compliance with the contractual terms by the executor. “Despite the notices that the works have been completed, in the town of Slănic, and beyond, work is still being done to establish the gas network,” the prefecture claims.

Prahova prefecture denounces in the press release the “hostile attitude” of the representatives of the Prahova County Council since the beginning of the event, manifested by the refusal to financially support the town of Slănic, in the ordinary meeting of April 30, 2024, “thus ignoring the imperative request of Slănic City Hall to receive help in the emergency situation”.
