Drivers are required to slow down. Premiere in Romania

--

Premiere in Romania! For the first time in our country, an intelligent speed limiter was installed. Here is where in Romania it is located and what it is equipped with.

For the first time in Romania, an intelligent speed limiter was installed in a county, which can identify the speed at which drivers are driving from a distance.

This device is equipped with sensors that can identify speed from a distance and allows only drivers who respect the speed limit to pass.

Although the school is right in the center of the town and many children and their parents cross on the pedestrian crossing, some drivers press the accelerator without taking this restriction into account.

The first intelligent speed limiter was installed in Romania. It is in Snagov, Ghermanesti village

The speed limiter is equipped with sensors that scan the speed at which drivers drive on the street. It allows only those who do not exceed the speed limit to pass.

This device is in the prototype stage and is undergoing testing. Signs will be installed in the area to inform drivers of the presence of this limiter. If the speed is exceeded, it rises, and if the speed is below 30 km/h, it will integrate into the asphalt.

The village of Ghermănești in Snagov commune, Ilfov county, is the first locality in the country where an intelligent speed limiter was installed.

The residents of Ghermănești are the first to benefit from an intelligent speed limiter. The authorities installed this first limiter, which monitors the speed of cars and rises if drivers exceed the limit of 30 km/h, the speed allowed on that stretch of road.

The smart limiter is located on a street that houses an educational facility.

This type of device was initially tested in Mexico. If this prototype works properly, there’s a good chance we’ll see this type of speed limiter installed in many other cities across the country, especially in areas where there are schools and where speeding accidents have occurred on road sections where there is a speed limit of speed.

Almost 700 drivers were left without a license

We remind you that recently, the traffic police have carried out operations to improve traffic safety. They found 116 offenses related to traffic rules on public roads. As a result of these actions, 697 driving licenses were suspended, of which 286 were for exceeding legal speed limits, 51 for driving under the influence of alcohol and 9 for driving under the influence of drugs.

Also, 368 registration certificates were withdrawn.

As part of Operation Blockade, carried out nationwide, more than 3,800 police officers and gendarmes acted together to maintain public order and prevent violent crime, drug trafficking and consumption, as well as to increase road safety.

In total, 397 checkpoints were organized, 6,909 vehicles were inspected and 10,978 people were checked. You can read more here.
