The 20th edition of Harghita County Days, under the sign of local values

The Harghita County Council, in collaboration with subordinate institutions, organizes the 20th edition of the Harghita County Days between May 8-20, 2024, this event being considered a good opportunity to present and highlight the values ​​of Harghita County.

Events in the program focus on cultural heritage, traditions and contemporary creations.

In this context, on Tuesday, May 7, a press conference was organized at the headquarters of the Harghita County Council, during which the programs and their implementation were presented.

Bíró Barna Botond, the vice president of the Harghita County Council, emphasized the importance of this event: “Harghita County has a natural and built heritage, rich and diversified, which also builds us. Through this event we have the opportunity to be able to present everything that makes us proud, determines us and what we build today, the greatest value being the Harghita community that builds and preserves the values“.

At the same time, the vice-president added that within this series of events the involvement of all subordinate institutions is being tried, in order to have as rich a range of programs as possible, the epicenter being Pentecost and the Pentecost Pilgrimage, so that “so that the pilgrims can take a part of our county into their hearts, at home.

Ferencz Angela, the head of the Harghita County Cultural Center, appreciated the harmonious collaboration of all the institutions involved in organizing this event, reviewing the programs to be organized between May 8-20.

Thus, the institutions prepared with approximately 70 programs, of which 15 programs dedicated to children, 20 presentations of traditional houses, photo exhibitions, theater performances, concerts, book presentations, excursions.

More than 50% of the programs are aimed at young people, 40% of which are bilingual.

The novelty of this edition is the availability in three languages ​​of the programs that can be accessed on the Visit Harghita page: https://visitharghita.com/ro/places/zilele-judetului-harghita.

The County Center for the Conservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture Harghita, represented by Bartalis Izabella, organizes 17 programs in the Odorhei area, 7 in the Ciuc area and 2 in the Gheorgheni area, the most important event being the Week of Museum Houses during which the ethnographic collections from the localities will be presented , the exhibitions being open to the general public. Craft workshops, exhibitions, popular games for children and presentations of local gastronomy will be organized during this event.

The Lăzarea Cultural and Arts Center, under the coordination of Kolcsár Béla, organizes programs in the northern area of ​​the county, considering Pentecost, with the focus being on events focused on religion.

The “Kájoni János” County Library will organize book presentations, the manager of the institution, Gyulai Arthur, appreciating that this type of events are very important in the life of the community.
