The traffic police recommend drivers to take alternative routes into account to avoid congestion on the last day of the Easter mini-holiday.

In order to avoid congestion on the A2 Constanța – Bucharest highway, the INFOTRAFFIC Center of the Romanian Police recommends drivers returning from the seaside to use alternative routes, respectively:

  • DN 2A Constanta – Hârşova – Slobozia – Urziceni – DN 2 – Bucharest;
  • A2 – Feteşti or Drajna – DN 3A – Lehliu-Gară – DN 3 – Fundulea – Bucharest;
  • DN 3 Constanța – Murfatlar – Adamclisi – Ostrov (crossing by ferry) – Călăraşi – DN 21 Călăraşi – Drajna – A2 Drajna – Bucharest (or, from Călăraşi municipality – DN 3 – Lehliu-Gară – Fundulea – Bucharest).

Today, at noon, there is congestion on the downhill direction of DN 1 towards Ploiesti, between Predeal and Buşteni stations, but also between Comarnic and Breaza localities.

For DN 1 Bucharest – Ploiesti – Braşov, the following roads can be used as alternative routes:

  • Bucharest – Highway A3 – Ploiesti – Cheia – DN 1A – Brasov;
  • Bucharest – Highway A1 – Pitesti – Câmpulung – DN 73 – Râşnov;
  • Bucharest – DN 71 – Târgovişte – DN 72A – Câmpulung – DN 73 – Râşnov;
  • Bucharest – Târgovişte – DN 71 Sinaia.

The police are acting in the road safety device to streamline traffic within the radius of all the mountain resorts on Valea Prahova, but also on the other nationally important roads.

For the safety of traffic participants, given that the traffic values will increase even more during the day, the police recommend drivers to consider the following tips: increasing the safety distance between vehicles; avoiding risky overtaking and queues of vehicles; carefully planning the route and using alternative routes; showing respect for other traffic participants, signaling any intention to change the traffic lane or direction; on highways, giving priority when exiting service spaces, putting hazard lights on at the end of a column that stops or slows down suddenly. Drivers are also reminded not to drive or stop in the emergency lane unnecessarily.
