Torrential rains with hail were recorded, on Sunday, in several areas of the country. People complain that gardens and orchards have been affected. Also, three cars were taken by a flood that formed on the Sărata stream, within the radius of the Prahov village of Vâlcăneşti.

According to the Prahova Emergency Situations Inspectorate, no victims were registered as a result of the event.

“In the town of Vâlcăneşti, the level of the Sărata stream rose, three cars were swept away by the flood (no casualties, only one of them is a functional car, two being unused) over a distance of approximately one kilometer. A crew from the Plopeni Work Point is on site and remains for monitoring. The stream still has an increased level”, says ISU Prahova.

A RO-ALERT message has been issued

Several counties were, on Sunday evening, under weather warnings of dangerous phenomena, for some areas yellow code warnings were issued, while others are under orange meteorological code warnings. In Prahova County, residents of several towns and municipalities received RO-Alert messages advising them to take shelter.

The authorities of Prahova county, which was under a code orange warning of dangerous weather phenomena, on Sunday evening, between 19:30 and 20:30, issued RO-Alert warning messages for the localities of Urlaţi, Boldeşti-Scăeni, Valea Călugărească, Bucov .

The residents of these cities and municipalities are asked to stop activities carried out in open ground or at height, to close all the windows of the house and of other categories of constructions, to avoid taking shelter or passing near trees, poles, billboards, constructions with architectural elements that can be easily dislodged, as well as buildings under construction, and in the case of increased flows on certain watercourses, not to try to cross them and not to approach their banks.

Bad weather warnings in other counties as well

Warnings of immediate weather phenomena were issued on Sunday evening for other counties as well.

Images of torrential rain accompanied by hail were shared on social networks in several areas of the country, where meteorologists announced heavy rainfall and strong winds.

Images appeared on Facebook from Tebea, Hunedoara county, from Şiria, in Arad county, but also from Dâmbovița.
