Exhibits presented in the Romanian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2023 can be admired in Iulius Mall Cluj. The Venice Architecture Biennale is one of the most prestigious international cultural events, celebrating artistic manifestations in fields such as visual arts, architecture, music, theater, dance and cinematography. The “NOW-HERE-THERE” pavilion brings together projects that present different architectural and design practices.
Until May 15, 2024, the people of Cluj are expected to explore the innovative creations of talented Romanians, who have changed paradigms over the years.
The world’s first aerodynamic car with wheels in the body, built by Aurel Persu in the 1920s, is on display in the Iulius Mall Atrium.
The automobile was among the first aerodynamic cars, having the shape of a drop of water.
Also on display in the Pavilion is the car built by hand by Justin Capră, in the 80s, by recycling older cars and airplane parts. The car is electric, a predecessor of the current models.
Car lovers can also see a model of an electric truck, manufactured in 1910, which belonged to the Romanian engineer Dimitrie Leonida – and which, like the other two cars, are part of the “Prof.Ing. Dimitrie Leonida” National Technical Museum.
