UTA’s last cash transfer is Rareș Pop, sold to Rapid for 700,000 euros. As soon as the papers were signed, the player had a setback in his evolutions, but – lately – he has recovered. The fact that he is an outstanding student made him miss a few practices, and this was then seen in the games. Not infrequently, Mircea Rednic changed the time of the training sessions, so that Rareș Pop could participate.

Now, the championship is at the end, and the fans are asking themselves all kinds of questions. Some of them were answered by the player himself, in a press conference.

Quickly keeps them “in the loop”

The players are not left behind by Rapid, even if they are now at UTA. Rareș Pop explains: “Obviously, the people from Rapid are interested in me, but also in Micovschi and Vulturar, they talk to us almost weekly, they ask us how we are and that’s about it, nothing special. I knew Micovschi before he came to Arad, through Cătălin Sărmasan (nn – the agent of the three players), and with Vulturar I started football with the same coach, when I was little. Both I and Cristi Mihai, all three of us started under the guidance of Dinu Donca. We know each other very well, we are happy, we get along off the pitch as well as on the pitch. No one knows what the future holds. It depends on my performance and what decisions the people from Rapid and implicitly, those from UTA, will make regarding me”.

Faculty in Bucharest?

Rares Pop wants to take the Baccalaureate with a minimum grade of 9, but he doesn’t know exactly but he is undecided when it comes to his future.

“I’m still undecided, I’m consulting with several people who are active in the respective field and are trying to somehow convince me to apply to one or another faculty in Bucharest. The grade I aim for at the Baccalaureate is a minimum of 9” – declared Rareș Pop.

Most likely, the indecision also comes from the fact that Rareș Pop is not sure that he will be stopped in Rapid’s squad for next season. We don’t know how long he really wants to continue at UTA, but if the new technician at Giulești doesn’t keep him, the player could still be loaned to Arad.
