Nine candidates registered in the race for the Capital City Hall. In addition to the current and former mayor, Nicușor Dan and Gabriela Firea, the lists also include Cristian Piedone, Sebastian Burduja, Mihai Enache, Diana Șoșoacă, Alexandru Pănișoara, Filip Titian and Dorin Iacob.

The general mayor of the capital, Nicușor Dan, owns a 7,460 square meter urban plot in Predeal, and a Citroen BX car, manufactured in 1986.

According to his last wealth declaration, from June 2023, in the income section, Dan has declared the salary of general mayor, of 195,910 lei net.

The candidate supported by Alianța Dreapta Unită has a bank loan of 100,000 euros and two loans to individuals, totaling another 52,000 euros. On the other hand, in his turn, he gave 20,000 euros as a loan to a natural person.

One of his main opponents, Gabriela Firea, owns, according to his last declaration of assets, from April 2024, jewels acquired in the period 1990-2022, in total value of 113,306 euros, but also paintings of 11,000 euros.

In Gabriela Firea’s property declaration, four plots of land appear, owned together with her husband, Florentin Pandele, two of which in Sinești, Ialomița (inheritance), one of 1,500 square meters and one of 60,000 square meters (25% share), as well as two other urban plots in Ilfov (50% share), with an area of ​​1740 square meters and 500 square meters, respectively.

According to the consulted statement, the senator also owns a house of 240 square meters (50% share), located in Petrachioaia, Ilfov, and a Mercedes car purchased in 2010.

According to the document, Gabriela Firea has four bank accounts in which she has 15,024 lei, 432.55 euros and 322 dollars. At the same time, he granted three loans to individuals totaling 27,000 euros.

The PSD candidate for the Capital City Hall has declared as (annual) income the Family Minister’s allowance of 98,558 lei, received during the months in which she led the ministry, the senator’s allowance of 61,013 lei and the salary of her husband, mayor of Voluntari, of 162,506 of lions.

The mayor with three Cadillac cars in the garage

The mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone, owns, according to his last declaration of wealth, from July 2023, four inner-city plots (50% share) located in Bragadiru, Ilfov, totaling 1933 square meters, as well as a house of 73 meters square meters (50% share), located in Bucharest, inheritance.

Regarding cars, the PUSL candidate for the Capital City Hall has a Mercedes from 1996, an Oldsmobil from 1959 and three Cadillacs (from 1968, 1973 and 1974). At the same time, he has 50,760 euros and 691 dollars in his accounts, and in the income section, the salary of the mayor of the sector is declared, of 45,989 lei, per year.

He has now entered the race for the Capital City Hall, while his son has entered the competition to take over the leadership of the Sector 5 City Hall.

Sebastian Burduja, the PNL candidate, owns, according to his last declaration of assets, from July 2023, two agricultural lands in the town of Dochia, Neamț county, (received by donation in 2017), totaling 41.5 thousand square meters, an apartment of 163 square meters in Bucharest and one of 131 square meters located in Năvodari, Constanța, (received by donation), but also a house of 175 square meters, bought in McLean, USA, owned with his wife, Emmaline Holland-Gayk.

The PNL candidate for the Capital City Hall has a Chrysler Cordoba car, manufactured in 1979 and another Honda CBR, manufactured in 2006, as well as watches and jewelry worth 15,000 euros.

In the accounts, Burduja has 600 euros, 54,275 dollars and 191,365 lei, as well as a mortgage loan, at a bank in the USA, in the amount of 469,416 dollars. The liberal gave 85,050 euros in advance for the purchase of an apartment.

In terms of (annual) income, Burduja has indicated: the salary of a deputy of 50,836 lei, the salary of the Minister of Research of 112,922 lei, and his wife’s salary of 368,000 lei, from the World Bank, from Bucharest, as well as two rents amounting to 37,133 lei and 60,000 dollars, as well as a lease of 2,370 lei.

AUR candidate loans

The AUR candidate, Mihai Enache, owns, according to his last wealth declaration, (in the proportion of 3/4 share): an urban plot of 2500 square meters and a residential house of 97 square meters, located in Bucșani commune, county The lady

Enache drives a Skoda Octavia car, manufactured in 2017, and has 1,000 euros and 3,000 lei in his accounts. He lent 135,000 lei (in total) to an individual and a company, while he has, in turn, 60,000 euros and 50,000 lei borrowed from two individuals.

Regarding income, the AUR candidate for the Capital City Hall indicated a salary of 117,600 lei, obtained as a director at the District 4 City Hall, and his wife’s salary, 62,400, from the Chamber of Deputies.

Sosoacă’s fortune

Senator Diana Șoșoacă owns, according to the last declaration of assets, from April 2024, two urban plots in Căciulata, Vâlcea, of 1375.47 square meters (in total), one in Vulcana de Sus, Dâmbovița, of 2170 square meters, an agricultural plot in Balotești, Ilfov, of 22,500 square meters (received by donation), two apartments in Bucharest, of 89 and 58 square meters, and a holiday house of 30 square meters in Vulcana de Sus, Dâmbovița.

The senator owns two cars, an Opel Corsa manufactured in 2015 and a Skoda Octavia from 2018, as well as art objects worth 5,000 euros.

The SOS Romania candidate for the Capital City Hall has two loans to individuals, of 43,000 euros (in total), and in the income section (annual) she has indicated the salary of a senator, of 130,515 lei, and the salary of her husband, of 23,319 lei.

Opponent of former Prime Minister Cîțu

Alexandru Pânişoăra, who entered the race with the support of the Romanian Environmentalist Party (PER), is the one who in 2021 requested in court the annulment of the decision of the National Political Bureau (BPN) of the PNL by which the prime minister at that time, Florin Cîțu, received a seniority exemption in order to be able to enter the race for the leadership of the party.

According to the wealth declaration submitted in 2022, as a result of his membership in the Board of Directors of Sector 1, Pânișoara earned dividends worth 161,462 lei and another 14,560 from his position as a consultant at the World Bank. He also has a loan due in 2049, worth 661,173 lei. The asset declaration also shows a 2019 Smart car and two apartments in Bucharest.

Pânișoara is the president of the Association for Urban Planning Law, which contested in court the suspension of five sector PUZs.

The second independent is Filip Constantin Titian. According to a wealth declaration published when registering in the race for Sector 4 in 2020, Tititan had 3775 lei in the previous year through Filip International Company. The document also shows that he obtained 10,000 lei from a lease and another 1,000 lei from a rent.

At that time, Titian owned three apartments in Bucharest, three plots of land in Bucharest, Predeal and Vidra, as well as two Dacia and Matiz vehicles.

In the declaration of wealth, the status of associate in several companies is also specified, but the income is not mentioned, such as that of SC Gazprom International Distribution.

Another candidate is proposed by the Right Alternative Party. Dorin Iacob has been active in recent years as an analyst, so he has not filed an asset declaration in recent years, but he is a former SRI officer and political advisor.
