Gabriela Firea, candidate of the Social Democrats for the Capital City Hall, said that she entered the race for Bucharest, trusting the citizens who voted for her four years ago, but the strongest motivation is the desire to transform the city into a metropolis civilized.
Gabriela Firea mentioned that during the elections 4 years ago, a good part of the people of Bucharest voted for her, although she was the target of a very aggressive negative campaign.
“I rely primarily on the people of Bucharest who voted for me almost four years ago, 250,000 people from Bucharest, and I lost by a small margin, at the level of the Capital, to Mr. Dan, and my calculation is as simple as possible , I rely on him, I rely on the people of Bucharest. If everyone who voted for me last time, even though I was the target of a negative, furious campaign online, which I couldn’t cope with, because, frankly, I’m not even good at that kind of thing,” he said. Gabriela Firea pointed out that the citizens who trusted Nicușor Dan are mostly disappointed by his activity as mayor, according to the survey commissioned by the current mayor.
“I thought that if I presented what we did the big infrastructure projects, the investments in transport, in hospitals, in education, it would be enough. Here it was not enough, and of those who voted for the current mayor, 280,000 Bucharest residents, the polls say over 70%, I’m more lenient, I say half, come on, not half, 30% are dissatisfied because they don’t have how can they be satisfied with the last years in which no investments were made”, added Firea.
Gabriela Firea stated that the reason she wanted to enter the race for the General City Hall was the continuation of the infrastructure projects.
“The city looks bad, most of it is a mess, there are potholes in the parks, you can’t walk, so not even small things. I am convinced that the people of Bucharest who voted for me three and a half years ago and were upset that I did not stay in the big projects, not these small and last-minute campaign ones like the current mayor, as well as those who are disappointed by Mr. Dan.
