Exceptional developments for the young players from FC Bihor, at the “Elite Neon Cup”! – Oradea live

The evolution of the young footballers from the U14 group of the FC Bihor Oradea club at the prestigious “Elite Neon Cup” tournament in the Greek capital, Athens, was a special one, beyond expectations. Thus, after winning Group H, where they finished in the ranking above teams that represented academies with a tradition of over 100 years, the students of coach Sorin Pop continued admirably in the upper stages.

In the round of 16, the young red-blue footballers achieved yet another performance, eliminating another academy with constant presence at international tournaments: German Athletic Academy, score 1-0, and qualified among the first 8 teams out of 48 participants.

On Wednesday evening, FC Bihor U14 beat Panathinaikos Athens, one of the most successful academies of the tournament, in the quarter-finals, along with Red Bull Bragantino (Brazil) and Liverpool.

After a balanced match, in which our boys fought on an equal footing, 3 minutes before the end, the Greeks scored the 2-1 goal that ensured their qualification to the semi-finals.

Thus, the U14 group of the FC Bihor club, coordinated by coach Sorin Pop and Academy manager Stelian Farcău, had an exceptional performance, exceeding expectations, at this year’s edition of the prestigious tournament in Athens, proving that it can fight for on an equal footing with the most prestigious Academies in the world.

These results bring yet another confirmation that a professional strategy is being implemented at FC Bihor, in the short term (promotion to League 2 seniors), and in the medium and long term (the construction of a nationally reference Academy and beyond).
