There is little left until the Romanians will receive, in the envelope, the recalculation decisions. But until these decisions arrive, pensioners sit with their breaths in their mouths because they do not know whether or not they will receive extra money in retirement.
The recalculation of pensions is in full process, announce the authorities, who insist on the fact that Romanians do not have to do anything for it.
“I am still being asked by some Romanians if your pension will also be recalculated. Yes, our dears! Each pension will be recalculated.
You will not be put on the road for this. For this, we have, on the one hand, a full process already started by our colleagues from the Territorial Pension Houses of digitizing the pension files, so that all the files are re-evaluated, all the pensioners’ information is in the system, all this is scanned and to have an electronic archive, an electronic database, and we want to be ready as quickly as possible.
The Romanians will start, we estimate that somewhere in May 2024, to receive their decisions with the recalculated pensions by the end of August”, stated, some time ago, the Minister of Labor, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, on Antena 3 CNN.
The recalculation process began at the end of March
And, according to the head of the Pension House, Daniel Baciu, at the end of March the pension recalculation process officially began.
“Today I signed the subsequent contract regarding the development of the software necessary to recalculate pensions according to the provisions of Law 360/2023 on the public pension system.
We are officially starting the process of recalculating the 4.8 million pensions in payment.
We are on the right track and determined to do justice to retirees after a lifetime of work!
We are determined to comply with the deadline set by the law so that the pensioners receive the income increased by the new pension law”, wrote the head of the National Pension House at the end of March.
Marcel Ciolacu: “The money is already included in the budget for the entire pension chapter”
Moreover, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu assured, a few days ago, that pensions will definitely increase from September 1.
“I assure the Romanians that we remain equally determined regarding the payment of the recalculated pensions in September.
I know that by then there will be dozens of news that there is not enough money. But the data from the first quarter show clearly: we have an increase in receipts from social contributions by more than 22%! This is the effect of increased jobs and wages.
We will ensure the full payment of the recalculated pensions, the money is already included in the budget for the entire pension chapter”, said Marcel Ciolacu.
“The evaluation process is 99.9% complete”
But Daniel Baciu, head of the National Public Pensions House, comes with a new announcement for all pensioners in Romania. According to him, the pension evaluation process is 99.9% complete.
“We already have the evaluation process 99.9 percent complete. We still have 150 thousand files out of 1.4 million. The evaluation process will be completed. Colleagues make the software, we issue the coupons.
We have a very clear calendar. We have no delays. From September 1, they will receive the calculated pensions”, said Daniel Baciu, at Realitatea PLUS.
