The Mayor of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, spoke Thursday evening, on Digi 24, about the problem of rats in the Capital. “Gabriela Firea accuses a city full of rats. Do they belong to the sectors, do they belong to the Capital City Hall?”, asked the producer of the show.
“I… you know I walk, by bus, through this city… I’ve never seen a rat. Of course, there is also the most relevant indicator, which is how many times the phone rings and the existence of these animals in Bucharest is advertised. It’s a decrease of about 20% compared to the previous mandate, but there are absolutely specific cases. If you ask 1,000 people from Bucharest, I think two will tell you that they met a rat in these 4 years (…). It is an artificial topic for the people of Bucharest. And why does it happen? We have a company which, by the way, is the creation of the former administration, which does extermination. I also gave him a budget, exactly as much as he requested, except that there are private places where they don’t reach, they don’t have the authority to intervene. There are other institutions that do control for private institutions, there are also empty lands on which, likewise, we do not have the competence to intervene… and this is the source of the rats. But it’s not a problem of Bucharest… the rats”answered Nicușor Dan.
