Whom do the people of Bucharest trust?

A quarter of Bucharest residents said they have a favorable opinion of the mayor of Sector 1, Clotilde Armand. She is surpassed in this chapter only by Nicușor Dan and Cristian Popescu Piedone, both candidates for the General City Hall, but she is ahead of all her direct opponents from Sector 1.

Thus, polled by IPSOS, 40% said they had a favorable opinion of Nicușor Dan, 35% of Cristian Popescu Piedone, 25% of Clotide Armand, 21% of Liviu Negoiță (PUSL candidate for Sector 1) and 10% of George Tuță ( the PSD-PNL candidate).

Other candidates for District 1 have low favorability percentages: 7% Ramona Bruynseels (AUR), 3% Mircea Andrei (Alternativa Dreaptà) and Iulian Hatmanu (REPER). These percentages come despite the fact that they are not known to the general public, as over 70% – 80% of respondents said they had not heard of them.

At the opposite pole, Liviu Negoiță, former mayor of Sector 3 who is now running for Mayor of Sector 1, faces the highest rate of mistrust among respondents with 54% who said they have an unfavorable opinion. Piedone (41%), Nicușor Dan (36%) and Clotilde Armand (28%) also have high percentages.

“Marcel, quickly call your political consultants and ask them to explain what is written here because it is not good at all for you and your party. With all the press bought by you and with all the state institutions that you use abusively to destroy the opposition, with all the 25 criminal complaints – made by PSD PNL against me in the last 3 years – filed by the prosecutors, with all the nonsense said it’s up to you to know that you can no longer fool the world,” wrote Clotilde Armand on Facebook.

The survey was conducted by IPSOS on a sample of 1,300 respondents using the method of face-to-face interviews.
