Curd has become more expensive, before the Easter holidays –

--

Near the Easter holidays, the markets in Suceava are full of goodies. In the lamb shed, the meat is sold at last year’s price. Although there are not many customers, the producers are not worried about being left with the goods in the gallantry. On the other hand, some of the dairy producers increased the price of curd during the holy week. In addition to radishes and lettuce, Romanian tomatoes also appeared on traders’ stalls, which are sold at prices between 15 and 20 lei per kilogram.

The lamb shed in the municipality of Suceava has opened its doors to customers. Two local producers were selling lamb for 50 lei per kilogram on Wednesday. The price has remained unchanged from last year, but is double compared to the price charged in 2015.

“Just like every year, the conditions have remained unchanged for some time. First of all, it must have a manufacturer’s certificate, accompanied by a trade book, because, as you can see, the prices are displayed in mercurial mode, so mercurial prices. This means that today it may be one price, tomorrow it may be another price, depending on supply and demand. In addition, traders of lambs, lamb carcasses, must have an up-to-date animal health card, a medical certificate or their own health card, that they are healthy and can sell food in the market, and a sanitary-veterinary permit. There are quite a few, the legislation is quite thick, but in order to sell in optimal and safe conditions, they are necessary.”

If the price of lamb meat remained unchanged compared to last year, the price of curd also increased compared to last week. The stalls in the large square of Suceava are full of all kinds of goodies. Manufacturers and retailers say they have kept the prices they had before the May 1 mini-holiday. So, here we have tomatoes that sell for 15 lei per kilogram. Another variety and another country, tomatoes produced in Romania, 20 lei per kilogram. Cucumbers are sold for 15 lei per kilogram. Cabbage, 5 lei per kilogram. Here we have fresh garlic, green garlic, 2 lei the link. Onions are sold for 2 lei per link. Radishes are sold for 2 lei a link. And green salad for 3 lei.
