The last day for submitting candidacies for the local elections

The date of April 30, 2024 will not be (only) Tuesday with three bad hours for the superstitious, but also the last day for submitting candidacies for the elections for the local public administration authorities. Until 11:59 p.m., political and electoral alliances, parties, citizens’ organizations belonging to national minorities, but also independent candidates can register in the electoral race from June 9, 2024, for the positions of mayor, president of the County Council, local councilor, respectively , county Council.

Candidates who change their mind will be able to withdraw from the candidacy until the date of the definitive closing of the candidature. And this fact will happen on May 8, 2024.

For now, in Galati, only a few political formations and a few independents have registered their candidacies, with processions of members and supporters, or discreetly, as the case may be. By 2:00 p.m., they had registered their candidacies: the Political Alliance of Socialist Romania, the Democratic Conservative Party (PCD), the Humanist Social Liberal Party (PUSL), Pro Romania, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), SOS Romania, the Social Democratic Party (PSD ), the United Right Alliance (ADU), the National Liberal Party (PNL) and two independents, one at the County Council, the other at the Local Council.

The headquarters of the municipal and county electoral offices are located at the Sports Hall.

On May 10, 2024, the electoral campaign will begin, which will end on June 8, 2024, at 7:00 a.m.
