The Ministry of Labor announces, on Monday, that the money for the payment of pensions has been fully transferred to the Romanian Post Office. Three installments of payments have been made since last week.

“The sums necessary for the payment of pensions before the Easter holidays were transferred, by the National Public Pension House, to the Romanian Post”, the Ministry of Labor announced on Monday.

According to the institution, three installments were paid, as follows:

  • tranche I, representing 50% of the total amount, were transferred on Thursday, April 25;

  • tranches II and III were transferred on Friday, April 26.

“The entire amount needed to ensure the payment of Romanians’ pensions before Easter is already at the Romanian Post Office. In this way, we thank our partners from the National Romanian Post Company, for the fact that they mobilized so that the money reaches the beneficiaries before the holidays”, declared the Minister of Labor and Social Solidarity, Simona Bucura-Oprescu.

The government decided, on Thursday, that the pensions related to the month of May are paid before the Easter holidays, and the National Public Pensions House will transfer the money until April 30 to the Romanian Post Office and banks. The total value of pensions amounts to 9,331,399 thousand lei.

Prime Minister Marcel Colacu announced, on Thursday, at the beginning of the Government session, that the decision to allow the payment of pensions before the Easter holidays is being adopted, showing that it is a natural gesture of respect for Romania’s senior citizens.
