A Bulgarian citizen was caught by the border police from Giurgiu while trying to smuggle 34 bags of tobacco into Romania, which were hidden in a specially arranged place under the floor of the car.

At the Giurgiu Border Crossing Point, on Tuesday, on the way to enter the country, a 28-year-old Bulgarian citizen, driving a car registered in Bulgaria, presented himself.

Following the control, the border police officers discovered in a specially designed compartment, under the vehicle, on the floor, 113 kg of loose tobacco, packed in 34 bags, according to Mediafax.

In this case, a criminal case was drawn up under the aspect of committing the crime of producing excisable products, and the entire quantity of tobacco, estimated at a value of over 10,000 lei, and the car, worth 25,000 lei, were seized in order to continue the investigations .
