On Tuesday, the Craiova Court of Appeal won the case against a former employee of the Rovinari Thermal Power Plant.

According to USR deputy Radu Miruță, about 300 former employees from mining and energy from all over the country won victories at the Courts of Appeal. Of these, over 200 are from Gorj.

People should receive an extra pension, after recalculation, between 1200 and 1800 lei.

The parliamentarian accuses, once again, the political leaders in government of blocking Law no. 197/2021. Casa de Pensii Gorj does not take into account the favorable decisions obtained in court by former employees of CE Oltenia.

“I counted more than 300, obviously, not being able to count them all, and we are talking about processes in which the financial part was also won, that is, people received between 1200 and 1800 lei per month in addition to their pension, money that was stopped initially from the wrong decision of the Pension House, ordered by the political leaders who coordinate the Pension House and the Ministry of Labour. Most of them are from Gorj, about 70%, about 200 or so are from Gorj, but they are numbers that I counted from what people wrote to me and I checked on the court portal. I don’t have all the data either, there are many more in reality. I have only one question for Mr. Weber and Mr. Iordache: how many more lawsuits must be won before you guys lift this roadblock and let people get their rights? Because, at this moment, after the highest court in Romania, namely the High Court of Cassation and Justice divided this match between me and them and established that Law 197 retires people and established that Law 197 retires people and recognizes their special working conditions in terms of the appropriate amount of money.

All courts in Romania win cases for those who have complete files and meet the respective conditions of the law. My question is why are they walking these people through court? My firm request to these political leaders is to put ambition aside and understand that it has already reached the embarrassing absurdity of people with the law in their hands being turned away by the Pension House who are ordered to make this happen in court, to win in court and only after that to receive the money”, says the deputy.
