The social-philanthropic program “We are renewed by Easter”, held during this period in the Archdiocese of Lower Danube, continued on Monday, April 29, with a series of actions carried out in the Galati diocese.
“Within this diocesan program, 4,300 elderly people and 2,300 children, who come from over 500 needy families with more than three children, receive food, clothing and shoes from the Lower Danube Archdiocese during this pre-Paschal period, in value of approximately 500,000 lei”, states the Archdiocese of Lower Danube.
Children from several parishes in the city of Galati had the opportunity to choose the desired products themselves. Accompanied by the priests from the parishes they belong to and their parents, the children went to a shopping center, where they each bought new clothes and shoes. The joy was great, as the children chose the products they needed and wanted, many of these beneficiaries, recently due to their precarious financial situation, have not been able to go shopping in such a of the store”, states the Archdiocese of Lower Danube.
To guide them in the store, but also to make the process of choosing age-appropriate items more efficient, volunteers from the parishes of Galaţi were involved.
