Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announces that after analyzing the situation of the implementation of public investments with the ministers who have the largest projects in their portfolio, during a working meeting that took place on Monday, at the Victoria Palace, that the Executive will “maintain the alert pace of investments both to complete as quickly as possible the projects that citizens naturally expect”.

“For this year, we have the largest volume of investments allocated from national and European funds. Data for the first quarter of the year show a 70% increase in the execution of investment spending compared to the same period last year. We will maintain the alert pace of investments both to complete as quickly as possible the projects that citizens naturally expect – transport, medical, education infrastructure, investments in the energy and digitalization sectors – but also to use resources as efficiently as possible”. said Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, it is stated in a Government press release.

According to the budget execution until March 31, 2024, investment expenses, which include capital expenses, as well as those related to development programs financed from internal and external sources, amounted to 22.50 billion lei, being 1.7 times higher compared to the same period of the previous year, when they were worth 13.16 billion lei, according to the cited source.

The meeting at the Victoria Palace was attended by the head of the Executive, the Deputy Prime Minister Marian Neacșu, the Minister of Finance, Marcel Boloș, the Minister of Investments and European Projects, Adrian Câciu, the Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration, Adrian Veștea, representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Company National Road Infrastructure Administration, the release also says.
