The moment was captured at the prize concert organized by Georgiana Lobonț, one of the most well-known and beloved singers of popular and party music from our country.

“Thank you, Father Doru Gheaja from Alba Iulia! A joy to have him as a guest in my concert in Cluj!” wrote Georgiana Lobonț, on her Facebook account.

Doru Gheaja said that she happily went to the concert of her “friend” Georgiana Lobonț.

With his strong voice, he performed a series of religious songs and ended with one of his most beloved songs: “Tu, Transylvania!”

Before becoming a priest, he was co-opted into the Ensemble of the Braşov Region, and later joined the professional Ensemble of songs and games “Mureşul” from Târgu Mureş. He chose to be an Orthodox priest.

Father Doru Gheaja was discovered by Adrian Păunescu who co-opted him into the “Flacăra” Cenacle. Helped by the poet, Doru Gheaja is the one who launched the well-known piece “Aşa-i românul”, collected from Sibiu County, from the Hârtibaciului Valley.

Later, Adrian Păunescu wrote the text for the song “Colindul Apusenilor”, whose melodic line is taken by the priest from the famous “Simone tell me you if you love me”.

The song became famous under the name “Tu Ardeal”.
