The bed in the “clean room” of the traditional Dobrogean home was decorated with the best fabrics, in anticipation of the festive days. Thus, the sheet and coverlet were spread over the woolen mattress, the woolen pillows were displayed along the wall where the bark was, and at the end of it was the dowry chest on which were displayed in a stack, mats, bedding and wipes.

The sheet featured today is warp woven from unbleached cotton. It consists of two sheets of fabric, joined lengthwise. The decoration is spread over its entire surface, consisting of registers woven in openwork with geometric floral motifs and rods woven with white cotton. On one of the long sides, an elaborately worked white cotton crochet lace is applied.

The piece was woven in the first part of the 20th century in the town of Topalu, Constanța county and purchased in 1979. By the Ministerial Order issued on March 31, 2017, the object was classified in the legal category FOND.
