A 25-year-old man, from Alba Iulia, was DETENTED by the police after he was caught “DRUNK DRUNK” and without a license, behind the wheel of a car. The owner of the car is also being investigated.

According to IPJ Alba, on April 29, 2024, at around 01:00, public order officers from the Alba Iulia Municipal Police spotted a 25-year-old man from Alba Iulia, while he was driving a car, on Calea Motilor in Alba Iulia, being under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

Following the testing of the driver, with the breathalyzer, the value of 1.02 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted, for which reason he was taken to the hospital where blood samples were collected, in order to determine the alcohol level.

At the same time, following the checks carried out, the police found that the young man does not have a driving license for any category of motor vehicle, and the car he was driving belongs to a 38-year-old man from Alba Iulia, who allegedly entrusted the car to him for to drive on public roads, although he knew that the young man did not have a license.

A criminal case was drawn up against the driver for the offenses of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license, and he was detained for 24 hours, and he will be presented to the Prosecutor’s Office today, April 29 from the Alba Iulia Court, for the disposition of legal measures.

In relation to the man who allegedly entrusted the car to him, the investigations are continued under the aspect of committing the crime of entrusting a vehicle for which the law requires the possession of a driver’s license, for driving on public roads, to a person who does not possess a driver’s license.
