The lists of PSD and PNL candidates for the positions of councilors within the Gorj County Council include, among others, heavy names in Romanian medicine. Although they are colleagues in the guild, some of them even very famous doctors and fully confirmed professionally, they have different views and political options. Of course, the political difference will be seen, in the end, during and after the electoral campaign, the results of the local elections on June 9 being evocative.

1 . PSD Gorj opens the county list with Dr. Dragoș Davițoiu, originally from Tg-Jiu, ranked 2nd after the president Cosmin Popescu. In the “medical world” in Romania, it needs no introduction. The surgeon Dr. Dragoș Virgil Davițoiu, university lecturer, is an exceptional specialist, general surgery primary doctor, doctor in Medical Sciences. It has thousands of lives saved, a national and international reputation. He led as a director St. Pantelimon Hospital Bucharest (2017 – 2020) and the Bucharest Emergency University Hospital. Dragoș Davițoiu is one of the personalities of this country who put, put and will put the job in the hands of many generations of doctors for a long time to come.

2 . Next on the PSD Gorj lists, in third place, is the doctor Bogdan Niculescu.

At least in Oltenia, Dr. Niculescu Bogdan doesn’t really need any introduction either. Academic staff, doctor of medical sciences, specialist in orthopedic surgery, Bogdan Niculescu has more than 10 years of experience in the surgical treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. Over 600 surgical interventions are performed ANNUALLY, from primary arthroplasty and hip and knee revision to traumatology and arthroscopic surgery. Bogdan Niculescu managed to bring foreign doctors to the SJU Tg-Jiu wards at the level of Gorju, with whom he could even perform surgical firsts.

3 . Dr. Claudiu Soare is the PNL Gorj candidate in 7th place of lists for the County Council. Surgeon Soare Gabriel Claudiu, he too, at least in Gorj, doesn’t really need any introduction. With thousands of active surgical interventions, Soare is the head of the Surgery Section II within SJU Tg-Jiu and his professional reputation precedes him. Primary doctor of general surgery, Claudiu Soare made his name in the medical life of Gorje not only for the thousands of operations performed but also with “miracle” interventions, even a first for Gorj and related to the logistical capabilities he offered and can you offer a hospital like SJU Tg-Jiu. Soare is one of the exceptional surgeons of Gorju and currently holds the seat of county councilor, and a new mandate has him as assured in the future.

4 . Cosmin Rauț, is a “newer” doctor in the medical world of Gorje and is on a borderline position on the PNL Gorj lists for the County Council. Dr. Răuț Cosmin comes from a family of renowned doctors in Gorj and worked for many years as a family doctor in Săcelu commune. After completing the second specialization, he became a cardiologist specialist in the Rovinari hospital. Shortly after, he took over the medical leadership and was appointed medical director of this hospital. He also founded the Viena Medical clinic in Tg-Jiu where he also carries out his medical activity privately. He has never been a political “militant” before, for any party, but the situation seems to have made him join, along with his wife, the formation led by Ion Iordache.

5 . Feraru Alin is another doctor on the PNL Gorj lists for CJ, located in the eligible place with number 6. Feraru is the youngest of those mentioned, but he is an exceptional specialist cardiologist. Currently, Alin Feraru is a doctoral student in medicine at the Craiova Faculty of Medicine. He followed residency in Cardiology in Craiova and in Libramont-Chevigny (Belgium), where he gained experience in semi-invasive procedures, treating patients with multiple and complex pathologies. In the second half of his residency, he returned to Romania, starting to work at the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Timișoara. In the last part of his residency, he treated patients in the Coronary Department of the Timișoara County Emergency Clinical Hospital. He collaborated with prestigious medical institutions – the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Timișoara and the Timișoara Emergency County Clinical Hospital. He worked in the cardiology department of SJU Tg-Jiu and currently he chose to work only privately.

How much these doctors will succeed in transposing their professional credibility into the electoral, political one, will also result from the way of approaching the electoral campaign they have in front of them, of interaction with the Gorjean electorate. Indeed, Gorjul needs such people, even in the leadership forums. It would be desirable to stay away from the political “mud” and treat the electoral campaign with great responsibility. Don’t get carried away, fall into the “trap” and don’t descend into the current mess of social networks, “electoral video chat”, etc., and stain your white, clean robe of a noble, intellectual jobs.
