Candidate for Sibiu City Hall, president of AUR Sibiu, Sebastian Suciu says that the prosecutors want to ban the “civic activism” of Marian Răduinea. Candidate for the local council from the AUR, Răduinea says that he will sue the Prosecutor’s Office as a result of the release issued about the criminal file opened in his name.

This is the statement issued by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sibiu Court, which described the context in which on Monday morning searches took place at several residences in the city, but also in the offices of some officers in the management of the IPJ Sibiu. Officers accused of divulging service secrets or information not intended for publicity to Marian Răduinea, accused in turn of having made them public. More seriously, Răduinea was presented in the middle of scenarios in which, through minors, he would compromise the image of the head of the Police Inspectorate of Sibiu County, Tiberiu Ivancea.

“We want to let the authorities carry out all the investigations ordered by the prosecutor and the competent institutions, and we do not want to consider these things as politically targeted attacks, considering that they were made on the day when the validation of the candidates for the municipal council was debated , including Mr. Răduinea. I don’t know since when civic activism is illegal. They want to create a censorship”, declared Sebastian Suciu (right photo), in a press conference organized on Monday evening.

Suciu said that he too was “politically intimidated” by the fact that he was asked to dismantle an electoral sign placed on a private property. “I am glad that (the authorities – no) acted quickly and that delayed action from Caracal was not repeated, that action by which a girl from Sibiu was lost and even now it is not known what happened to her and without taking into account calculate that heinous crime near Iohannis’s house. We let the authorities do their duty. I hope it is not a political order”, added Suciu.

Răduinea: “They broke my door at six in the morning”

Marian Răduinea (pictured left) attributed the investigation opened in his name to the criminal reports he made over time and which “had a very small result, and that only for the smallest”. “I was knocked to the ground, handcuffs were put on me, after 30 seconds they said handcuffs were no longer needed. They also broke my door, that’s all. At six in the morning I met with the head of the municipal police and two police officers whom I publicly reported for parking illegally and having their windshields covered with non-compliant foil. Let’s say that by chance the prosecutor delegated these policemen”, Marian Răduinea showed, in the same press conference, also showing a bruise produced this morning, for which she says she will issue a medico-legal certificate.

He says that the information given to the public by him and for which he is accused by the prosecutors of divulging service secrets or information not intended for publicity is, in fact, information that he found on the institutions’ websites or received “in- an envelope left in the windshield”. “I was presented with five situations based on public information, not non-public as the prosecutor’s office says, which I posted in 2023 and 2024. Regarding the fact that a contest organized at IPJ Sibiu could have been defrauded. Then that I would have posted images from a meeting of the IPJ, which I don’t remember. The third is that I would have posted the request of the head of the IPJ to check his office if there are recording systems. It is part of a file that is being worked on at DNA Bucharest, a file that is stagnating. I was in the audience three times, the last time the prosecutor told me to be a little more patient”, said Marian Răduinea, who also recalled the accusations of incompatibility she brought to the mayor of Sibiu in the last deliberative session local.

He declares that he will file criminal complaints, sue the Sibiu Prosecutor’s Office, complain to the Superior Council of Magistracy and the Judicial Inspection, because the prosecutors communicated things that he was not asked about at Monday’s hearings and about which he says he did not they are real. “The public prosecutor’s statement surprised me. It says there that I would have tried to get the son of the head of the IPJ to use drugs. Nobody even told me about such a thing. It seems to me a very serious deed, But it seems serious to me as the head of the IPJ to agree with such a statement, exposes his child”.

As for the prosecutors’ claim, according to which Răduinea would have told that she intended to hit the IPJ chief’s car, in order to reveal a scenario according to which it would be driven by his minor son, Răduinea also rejects any claim.

“I think the main reason is that I decided to take the first step in politics. Not that I’m a politician or anything, but after I addressed all the state institutions and nothing happened, I’m addressing the citizens. For the fact that I decided to support AUR and Mr. Suciu for the position of mayor and Mrs. Fodor took into account what I said in the meeting, they saw me as a danger: let’s make this man shut up. How? break down his door, intimidate him. Mr. Suciu’s mandate was also validated today and the prosecutor decided to make a connection between the party and my person. If anything in this statement turns out to be true, I will resign and publicly apologize. I have never seen such denigration in my life. I let them know once again that I do not intend to give up: I think I will show even more problems in the coming days. In Sibiu, AUR has some of the most popular candidates. There are no people who are not honest: we cannot blackmail them, that’s why we came here,” Răduinea added.

The prosecutors are in error, Răduinea claims, when they present him as a “former police officer”, because they are waiting to be reinstated as a result of some court rulings that have not yet been implemented. “I have a definite decision to be put in office. The only legal method is to ask for compensation for each day of delay”.

Prosecutor’s Office: “The author of the fraud was arrested”

During the AUR conference, the representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sibiu District Court announced that “the author of the fraud was arrested”. It is about a 27-year-old young man, described as being from Răduinea’s “close entourage”, accused of defrauding a supplier of petroleum products in the amount of 52,000 lei.

“It was ordered to carry out further criminal prosecution against one of the policemen with leading positions for the crime prev. of art. 304 para. 1 of the Criminal Code and against the former police officer for the crime provided by art. 304 para. 2 Criminal Code”, announce the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sibiu Court. The articles of the law indicated refer to the crime of disclosure of secret service or non-public information. None of those prosecuted in this second case have been prosecuted.
