The six-year-old boy who would have been sold for several hundred lei in Germany is brought back to Romania today, together with a psychologist and a team from the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Gorj, reports News.ro.

Also, in the context of the start of the administrative procedures for the repatriation of the minor, the president of the National Authority for the Protection of Children’s Rights and Adoption, Secretary of State Rareş-Petru Achiriloaie, traveled urgently to Munich to discuss the solution of the case with the representatives of the diplomatic mission and the competent German authorities , also shows the press release of the Ministry of Family.

“The absolute priority at this time is to make sure that this child is okay, that he will receive all the support and help from our specialists to overcome this obvious trauma that he has been through. We trust that the investigative bodies will solve this case as soon as possible, in which the facts seem to be downright horrifying, and we trust that those who are guilty will answer in court”, said the ANPDCA president, Rareş-Petru Achiriloaie.

The case of the six-year-old child came to the attention of ANPDCA when the authorities in Germany were notified, who requested the Ministry of Justice to clarify the situation of a Romanian minor, after finding that he was in the care of a foreign citizen.

In Romania, the investigation in this case, in which there are suspicions of trafficking of minors, was taken over by DIICOT, as a result of a referral made by the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Gorj.

Also, the other two siblings of the boy – an 8-year-old girl and a 2-year-old and 8-month-old boy – were urgently taken over by DGASPC Gorj and are now in the care of a foster carer.
