An ambulance driver from Suceava suffered a stroke while driving the vehicle on a mission.

The life-saving intervention of the medical assistant avoided a possible disaster on the road.

“The 57-year-old ambulance driver is now hospitalized at the Suceava County Hospital, where there is an intervention center for stroke patients.

It all happened on Saturday, when the ambulance was sent on a mission.

At one point, the paramedic on the ambulance noticed that the shift driver was moving the engine too much and thought it was a technical problem.

When he tried to talk to the driver, he realized he was having a stroke.

The assistant intervened by telling him what to do to stop the car, after which he asked for the support of his colleagues, who came with another ambulance to take the driver.

Also, the emergency they were heading to was taken over by another crew.

After being transported to the hospital, the driver who suffered the stroke underwent surgery and the blood clot was removed from his brain.

This incident brings back into question the professional stress to which ambulance workers are exposed.

There is a law that says they should be able to retire at age 57. The application of that law is, however, postponed until at least January 1, 2025.

The trade unionists in the system say that, because of this, more and more paramedics themselves become cases of medical emergencies while they are on duty,” reported Antena 3 CNN correspondent Paul Ciurari.
